Nomination Committee

The Nomination Committee is a special committee of Council. Following the 2009 election, the Nomination Committee prepared recommendations for the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair of Council and for membership on each of the Council committees. The successful candidates to the positions of Council Chair and Vice-Chair were confirmed at the inaugural meeting in July.

Throughout 2009, the committee reviewed and made recommendations regarding committee membership and elected-member Council positions as vacancies occurred. The College bylaws were clarified in 2009 to reflect the significant role of the committee in recommending candidates for committee and Council vacancies. The expanded role of the Nomination Committee in selecting members to an ad hoc committee of Council was also added to the College bylaws in 2009. As a result of a review of Council committee compositions, the Nomination Committee membership was increased from five to seven.
