Nomination Committee

The Nomination Committee is a special committee of Council. The committee prepares recommendations for the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair of Council and for membership on each of the Council committees at the Inaugural meeting of Council.

During the term of the Council, the committee reviews and makes recommendations regarding committee membership and elected-member Council positions as vacancies occur.

In 2010, the committee interviewed prospective candidates and then recommended the appointment of Rebecca Coulter of the University of Western Ontario to fill the faculties of education position left vacant by the resignation of the incumbent. On three occasions during 2010 the committee distributed questionnaires to Council members to establish their committee interests. This information was used to recommend committee membership changes to the Executive Committee.

In 2010, the committee began a review to ensure equitable distribution of committee membership.
